Job overview
Locum Consultant Dermatologist
(Conquest base but some cross site working as required)
Part time 8.0 PA
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dermatology Consultant within the Specialist Medicine Division to join our established Dermatology Team of specialty Trust doctors and specialist nurses with the aim of providing high quality safe outpatient and inpatient care.
Main duties of the job
The Department is therefore looking to appoint an individual who are experienced, dynamic and committed in delivering services that reflect best clinical practice within the specialty of Dermatology. The applicant will have experience in diagnosing and managing all aspects of general dermatology with an emphasis on skin cancer and surgery.
The post will support inpatient referrals to the speciality and provide clinical expertise to the referring medical teams.
This post will provide consultant leadership to the supervision of nursing teams delivering phototherapy, photodynamic therapy, drug monitoring / biologics clinic, patch testing and intralesional steroid and botox injections.

Essential criteria
- Higher Degree MB BS or equivalent,
- Membership or Fellowship of the MRCP
- Full Registration with GMC with a licence to practice Specialist Qualification- in Dermatology or equivalent with certificate of completion of training (CCT) Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
Desirable criteria
- MD or equivalent
- BSc accreditation
Training and Experience
Essential criteria
- Wide experience in all aspects of Dermatology culminating in the aware of CCT in specialties. Demonstrate interest in surgical dermatology and competent in dermatological surgery. Experience of skin cancer multi-disciplinary meetings
Desirable criteria
- Experience in other relevant medical specialties. Completion of courses relevant to Dermatology. Advanced training in skin surgery/post CCST fellowship.
Administration and Management
Essential criteria
- Evidence of participation in staff management Understanding of recent initiatives and changes, including Clinical Governance and Appraisal
Desirable criteria
- Management course and/or qualifications Knowledge of the structure of Health Service
Audit,Research and Publications
Essential criteria
- Thorough understanding of principles of medical audit Evidence of participation in audit and research Understanding of the role of research
Desirable criteria
- Completion and/or Publication of audit projects Experience of clinical research culminating in presentation and publication of original studies, review articles, etc, relevant to speciality Ability to lead clinical research project
