Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a position as a System Support Officer within the Humberwide Ophthalmology department which is part of the Head and Neck Care Group.

This position will be a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring System Support Officer who is motivated, forward-thinking and dynamic 

Main duties of the job

The postholder will provide high quality system support and support the maintenance and development to the levels of the Ophthalmology Department.

 

Primarily focussed on the end user, including day to day troubleshooting, projects involving information technology and diagnostic equipment, provide ad-hoc advice and training on the use of information technology and general tasks supporting the Technical and Data Manager.

 

This role involves face to face work as the first line support for the Ophthalmology Outpatients, Pre-assessment, Day Case, Theatre and Ward areas.

Professional Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Level 4 qualification or equivalent experience in an IT end user service/supporting field
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • ITIL 4 Foundation degree

Knowledge & Training

Essential criteria
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work to tight deadlines without supervision and on own initiative
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Effective team player

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Relevant established experience of working in an IT Technical environment in a support role with an IT end users
  • Technical Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Office 365, Adobe
  • Previous experience of Information systems and database management
Desirable criteria
  • Experience using Lorenzo and Medisoft/Medisight electronic patient record system
  • Good working knowledge of Ophthalmology operational processes

Communication and Interpersonal Skills
