Rotational Dietitian

Band 5

Job overview

SO THIS IS WHERE REMARKABLE STARTS…

We are currently looking for nearly or newly qualified Dietitians to be a part of our remarkable team as a Band 5 Dietitian.

Based at either Hull Royal Infirmary or Castle Hill Hospital (including the highly-regarded Queens Oncology Centre), this post will provide an excellent grounding in general dietetics within a trust that provides a comprehensive range of acute services to over 1.3 million people.

Working alongside an award-winning team of Specialist Dietitians, you’ll be offered the opportunity to work as part of one of our specialist teams in neurosciences & neurosurgery, renal, oncology, surgery (including parenteral nutrition), respiratory, critical care and gastroenterology.

A full competency-led training and support package will be provided to ensure you can develop your clinical skills in as many different areas as you wish in reaching your full potential, and developing a career that’s right for you.

You’ll have a varied caseload, as you support our team in training, take part in staff teaching, help in audit and service developments - and maybe even have the occasional article published!

We can usually provide reasonably priced hospital accommodation to get you started.

From the day you arrive, we are committed to your continued enjoyment, growth and fulfilment. We provide a full preceptorship package.

Main duties of the job

As a rotational Dietitian you will manage a clinical caseload which will involve planning, implementing and evaluating nutrition and dietetic interventions for patients in a variety of clinical settings including inpatients and outpatients.  You will be assisting in specialist areas in conjunction with senior colleagues.

You will be providing  advice on dietetic care in a range of medical conditions as part of a rotation for 0.9WTE.

You will be expected to participate in the promotion and development of dietetic services within the organisation in conjunction with colleagues.

You will contribute to the supervision and training of student dietitians, dietetic assistants and other colleagues and Health care professionals.

Working for our organisation

The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest acute and community Partnership arrangements in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients every year and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion.

Made up of two Trusts - Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) - our Partnership has significant ambitions and is committed to delivering world-class hospital and community services for the 1.65 million people we serve.

Together we employ nearly 20,000 staff. Our five main hospital sites are Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital, for NLAG and Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital for HUTH.

As Teaching Hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we both lead and contribute to research in many areas - biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery and oncology.

We believe that by developing a diverse, inclusive, innovative, skilled and caring workforce, we can deliver excellent care to our patients and a great future for our employees, our Partnership and our community.
