Exciting Opportunity 

Hull University Teaching Hospitals are seeking a Band 6 Senior Physiotherapist to join our diverse team of allied health professionals. 

The band 6 position on offer is rotational, working specifically across acute inpatient Orthopaedic Trauma and a Community Falls and Rapid Access (RAFT) service alongside another clinician . 

As a Senior Physiotherapist you will deliver the assessment and treatment of patients who present within the Orthopaedic and Rapid Access / Falls service , delivering evidence based interventions to facilitate recovery, promote well-being , self-management and optimise independent functioning as far as reasonably possible in all areas of life

We are seeking people who can adapt to changing environment and work well in a team. You will be expected to be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team and build social networks working in partnership with other agencies to identify and address the immediate need

Main duties of the job

The post would suit a Band 5 physiotherapist who has completed their core rotations and feels ready for the challenge of the senior rotational position or an existing band 6 physiotherapist who is looking to specialise in the area of trauma or falls

The post holder will be self-motivated and aspirational, be able to assess in an effective and timely manner in a busy environment. Confidence in enabling patients in self-management and personalised care.

Support will be provided to enhance operational management skills and the post holder will contribute to service planning, development and teaching. As a Senior Physiotherapist, the post holder will be a role model for their team and pride themselves on delivering high quality care and motivate their team to do the same.

There will be a requirement to support a 7 day rota and an on -call rota .  

The successful candidate will be fully supported  in  CPD programme .

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of clinical physiotherapy experience in orthopaedics
  • Evidence of involvement in supporting other staff/students
Desirable criteria
  • Experience working with frail patients / fallers

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Recognised qualification in Physiotherapy i.e. degree
  • HCPC registration
  • Driver with access to vehicle for role OR demonstrable means of independently travelling to patient's residences in the community.
Desirable criteria
  • Relevant post-graduate qualification – i.e. PG Cert/Diploma

Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of achievement of relevant B5 core physiotherapy competencies in current role
  • Evidence of achievement of Respiratory/on-call competencies in current/recent role
  • Understands own boundaries and knows when to report to Clinical Lead
  • Understands data protection and confidentiality
  • Able to delegate clinical and non-clinical duties to lower grade staff
  • Excellent verbal communication and listening skills
  • Good problem solving skills
Desirable criteria
  • Computer skills and use of electronic patient records
  • Knowledge of prescription of moving and handling equipment / completion of moving and handling plans
