Band 3 Therapy Assistant
Hull University Teaching Hospitals are seeking to recruit a Band 3 Therapy Assistant to join our diverse team of allied health professionals and support staff who work within Trauma Orthopaedics at Hull Royal Infirmary
The post holders will work alongside colleagues to support the assessment of need across a range of traumatic conditions which present with varying degrees of complexity. As a Therapy Assistant you will have direct input the treatment of patients who present within acute care, delivering evidence based interventions to facilitate recover, promote well-being and optimise independent functioning as far as reasonably possible in all areas of life
We are seeking people who can adapt to changing environment and work well in a team. You will be expected to be an active member of the therapy and multi-disciplinary teams and strive to treat patients and colleagues with compassion, kindness and respect.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to complement our Therapy Service at Hull Royal Infirmary working within Trauma Orthopaedics although there may be a requirement to be able to work at any site and within any clinical area within the Trust.
The post holder will be required to work Thursday to Monday 8-4 (including Saturday & Sunday ) in order to support with the progression of patients post surgical intervention
This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic person to gain experience working as a Therapy Assistant to provide support to Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in carrying out delegated duties. In addition, the post holder will assist in undertaking clerical and administrative duties directly related to patient care including mobility aids and clinical supplies.
An NVQ level 3 in Care or equivalent is desirable .

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, plus evidence of competencies OR experience/knowledge of specific patient conditions and therapeutic interventions deemed to be equivalent to diploma level
EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
- Previous experience working within the healthcare setting
- Experience of working within multidisciplinary teams
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working within a health/social care setting
Skills, Knowledge and Ability

- Understands own boundaries and knows when to report to supervising therapist
