Band 3 Therapy Assistant
Hull University Teaching Hospitals are seeking to recruit a Band 3 Therapy Assistant to join our diverse team of allied health professionals and support staff who work across a range of clinical specialties within an acute care setting.
This post is within the Medicine team at HRI, but the successful recruit may be required to work anywhere within the HUTH therapy service dependent on service needs.
The post holders will work alongside colleagues to support the assessment of need across a range of clinical conditions which present with varying degrees of complexity.
As a Therapy Assistant you will have direct input the treatment of patients who present within acute care, delivering evidence based interventions to facilitate recovery, promote well-being and optimise independence.
We are seeking candidates with proven UK health or care experience who can adapt to changing environment and work well in a team.
You will be expected to be an active member of the therapy and multi-disciplinary teams and strive to treat patients and colleagues with compassion, kindness and respect.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to complement our Therapy Service at Hull Royal Infirmary working within the Medicine team. Although there is a requirement to be able to work at any site and within any clinical area within the Trust.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic person to deliver interventions as a Therapy Assistant to provide support to Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in carrying out delegated duties.
In addition, the post holder will assist in undertaking clerical and administrative duties directly related to patient care including mobility aids and clinical supplies.
A NVQ level 3 in Care or equivalent is a prerequisite of this post, as is the demonstrated achievement of therapy-specific competencies.
The post holder will be required to work a 1:5 weekend pattern as part of their normal duty to support a 7 day service. Contribution to Bank holiday working is also required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in care or equivalent in relevant subject i.e. Care
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of achievement of relevant work-based training modules i.e. moving and handling, dementia awareness, food hygiene
EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
- • Able to demonstrate recent experience working with patients/clients in a caring or therapeutic environment
- • Evidence of healthcare/care experience in the UK
Desirable criteria
- • Previous NHS experience
KNOWLEDGE OF THE ROLE APPLIED FOR

- Evidence of a basic understanding of the role of a therapy assistant in an acute NHS Trust
