Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

We collaborate with other valuable partners, including three Healthwatch organisations, nine voluntary and community sector organisations and three top tier local authorities, with seven district, borough and city councils, as well as our local universities.

Job overview

We are looking for multiple Registered Nurses to join our friendly Terling Ward, caring for patients with respiratory conditions,  on a permanent full-time basis at Broomfield Hospital!

You will report primarily to the Senior Sister, Junior Sisters and work closely with the Health Care Assistants to promote, develop and maintain a culture within the Ward/Department in collaboration with the Charge Nurse which challenges and questions practice and promotes the quality of thinking amongst practitioners.

The role includes acting as a Practice Supervisor/Assessor ensuring that staff and students receive effective and documented induction, coaching, development and support.

The Trust aims towards maintaining the goodwill and confidence of its own staff and of the general public. To assist in achieving this objective, it is essential that at all times, employees carry out their duties in a courteous and sympathetic manner.

Main duties of the job

The Registered Nurse (Staff Nurse) is required:

  • To provide a high standard of individualised care to patients, whilst maintaining at all times their privacy and dignity
  • To assess care needs, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care
  • To contribute to supporting the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse
  • To support the maintenance of high standards of cleanliness in their own clinical area
  • Maintain an active Nursing and Midwifery Council registration

Working for our organisation

From facilities through to consultant specialists we want to be the best, to achieve this we need to recruit not just those who are the finest in their field but also those who have the potential to be. Yes, experience is important but so is outlook – if you are dynamic, forward-thinking and enthusiastic we want you to join us.
