Job overview

We are looking for enthusiastic and efficient Receptionist / Appointment Clerk to join the Ophthalmology Team at Colchester.

The post will be based in the Primary Care Centre working alongside Personal Assistants and other Administration staff for the Ophthalmic Surgeons. The position offers a rare opportunity to join a team with a good reputation, serving our local population of both adults and children.

This post is 30 hours per week, Fixed Term/Secondment until the 31st December 2025 - We are offering the option for this to be a term time contract.

Main duties of the job

You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills and have proven IT experience. You will be responsible for working independently and within a team of administration staff. You will be required to deal with patients face to face and over the phone.

Ophthalmology is a high volume service and you will need to be flexible and able to prioritise a busy workload with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
