EPUT provides community health, mental health and learning disability services to support more than 3.2 million people living across Bedfordshire, Essex and Suffolk. Also:

EPUT was formed on 1 April 2017 following the merger of North Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (NEP) and South Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (SEPT). A new leadership team was established at the Trust in 2020.

North Essex Community Services have an exciting opportunity for a full time medical secretary to support the Specialist Community Mental Health Team in Colchester.
Working 37.5hours per week Monday to Friday
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person who is flexible and has excellent secretarial and communication skills. You must have the ability to work unsupervised and under pressure and be able to deal sympathetically with patients and relatives of people with mental health problems.
To provide a vital link for staff, patients, relatives and outside agencies as required.

Your main responsibilities will be to provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the Consultant and their team. Previous medical secretarial experience in a NHS setting with clinical systems knowledge is desirable. Audio typing skills and experience in a similar role would be highly beneficial.

What is Staff Bank?
Our EPUT NHS staff bank is an entity managed by the trust that hires clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals to take on shifts at our trust hospitals and community settings. Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.
All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.
If you are joining our Trust in a fixed term role, please indicate on your New Starter Paperwork that you wish to join our staff bank.

To provide a range of administrative, referral management and medical secretarial support to the WECPS. To receive, co-ordinate and manage GP and Specialist referrals (manual and electronic) for review by clinicians ensuring that waiting time targets are met.
Be responsible for achieving waiting targets for the WECPS referrals and manage clinic information systems using software packages as appropriate to ensure that referrals to the service are managed consistently and proactively
