Job overview

This is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Therapist wishing to further develop their career within the community mental health setting, as part of an established, supportive team. If required, consideration will be given to a therapist within a current band 5 role as a transitional Band 5 to Band 6 development opportunity should level of experience require some specific  goals prior to reaching the skills required for a band 6 role. 

Main duties of the job

Within this role the Occupational Therapist will work within the wider MDT predominantly delivering assessment and treatment intervention within the  locality mental health teams based in Rayleigh and Canvey Island (Coombewood and Knightswick). The post holder will be part of the Occupational Therapy service that delivers services across  Castle Point Rochford and Rayleigh receiving professional supervision, support and guidance from within the Occupational Therapy service.

Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.

All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.

The successful applicant will  identify service users that have occupational needs, provide assessment and delivery of individual and group treatment intervention. There is the opportunity to develop both clinical and leadership training.

Within the role the post holder will provide supervision for unregistered staff and facilitate student education placements.
