Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population.

Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust. There are also three main community and mental health service providers who work together through a community collaborative.

Job overview

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSEFT) provides services to the residents of Southend, Basildon, and Chelmsford. It was formed in April 2020 by the merger of Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust, and Basildon & Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.  

Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) provides community health, mental health and learning disability services to support more 3.2 million people living across Bedfordshire, Essex, and Suffolk.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will represent the Business Analysis and Reporting directorate for performance and business reporting needs.  Working directly with the operational teams and corporate directorates, the post-holder will design and develop often highly-complex reports. Responsible for the delivery of regular and ad-hoc reports, for the purpose of supporting operational performance, resource management, business planning and the corporate and project requirements of the Trust. 

 

The post-holder is responsible for ensuring internal and contractual performance reporting is quality assured and delivered on time. Where improvement on quality and accuracy is necessary, the post holder will advise and support services on the actions required to improve their adherence to national and contractual standards.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post-holders will play a critical role in the future development of the Trusts performance and business reporting procedures and systems.

 

The post-holder will be required to attend regular meetings to present specialist analysis to a variety of audiences including senior managers and above.  The post-holder will be required to explain all report findings and resolve any data issues.

As Senior Reporting Analyst, you will be seen as a subject matter expect on technical solutions, capable of self prioritising and managing conflicting demands, be able to support team members, all with the aim of ensuring that the Trust has reliable and accurate information to support decisions and deliver the highest quality care to our patients

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of recent personal development or learning
  • Demonstrable experience working in this field and evidence of working at in a role that necessitated working independently without day to day direction
Desirable criteria
  • Post Graduate Qualification Health Informatics Qualification

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • A general understanding of the NHS and key developments shaping the performance agenda
  • Knowledge of NHS Performance and data modelling
  • Detailed knowledge of the patient pathway through Mental Health services
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience and knowledge of Foundation Trust performance requirements
