Job overview

Applications are invited for a Appointment for Service (LAS) doctor in Dermatology.  This exciting opportunity has arisen to cover STR maternity leave within the North Wales Dermatology higher training programme. The dermatology department at Glan Clwyd delivers outpatient services for patients with skin cancer and inflammatory skin diseases.  In addition, the department provides specialist clinics in patch testing, paediatrics and acne as well as supporting in patients with acute dermatological diseases.

Main duties of the job

The post comprises 10 sessions. 8 Clinical sessions (approximately 6 sessions of clinics/cutaneous surgery/ward rounds and referrals and approximately 2 sessions of direct patient related administration) and 2 sessions of Supporting Professional Activities. The successful applicants will be part of a friendly, enthusiastic and forward looking cohesive clinical team which also delivers extensive postgraduate and undergraduate training.

The successful applicant will be supported in their professional development and will gain excellent clinical and teaching experience.

Essential criteria
  • Fully registered with the GMC
  • Full MRCP
Desirable criteria
  • Post Graduate Dermatology Qualification

Clinical Experience

Essential criteria
  • Ability to take responsibility for clinical care of patients
  • Previous relevant clinical at least 6 months experience working in dermatology at IMT level or above in the UK
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in minor operations with an ability to competently perform supervised lists

Management and Administration

Essential criteria
  • Able to organise and manage priorities
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of audit
  • Experience of service development

Teaching & Research
