Job overview

Are you due to qualify as a Registered Children's Nurse in 2025? If so, East and North Herts NHS Trust may have the opportunity you have been looking for! 

We are in the top three NHS hospital groups in the East of England for size, so, you’ll work with a great mix of patients.

We have close working links with the University of Hertfordshire and Cambridge University, as well as being a founding member of the Eastern Academic Health Sciences Network. 

Our brand-new children’s emergency department is purpose built and includes 2 paediatric resuscitation bays, 6 major spaces, as well as a 10 bedded children’s assessment and decision unit. We also have our children’s 20-bedded acute ward, a day services unit and extensive children's community services.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to complete a full application with personal statement, sit an formal interview and assessment process.

Qualifications/Training

Essential criteria
  • RSCN/RN Child with current NMC registration

Previous Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience and evidence of managing patient care
  • Ability to prioritise and organise own work load
  • Ability to use initiative, whilst demonstrating an awareness of own limits
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of working with children and young people

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Competency in basic nursing skills
  • Evidence of practical application of Trust and national documentation standards
  • IT skills
