We are looking for flexible full time and Part Time administrators to join our growing team at the Integrated Care Coordination Hub  in Abel Smith House, Stevenage.

We are currently looking for full time and Part Time .  Working shifts between 8-8pm

Unsocial hours payments made from midnight Saturday to midnight Sunday.  The payments for Band 3 range from circa 40%-80% dependent on the hours worked.

The Hub provides essential administrative support to the clinical teams across East & North Herts. The post holder will work as part of a team of administrators to answer patient calls and enter referral data for the Community Adult Health Services onto our Patient Administration System.  The team is also responsible for directing each referral to the appropriate clinical team.

 

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will: 

  • Have good communication, IT and customer service skills.
  • Undertake a range of administration tasks, including processing referrals and letters
  • Answer incoming calls, dealing with enquiries from patients, relatives and professionals 
  • Ensure accurate and relevant information is recorded on our clinical system database
  • Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service

You will receive full support and training to undertake all aspects of the role, you need to bring enthusiasm, energy and a flexible approach to work. After an initial training period we offer a hybrid model of working with at least 1 day working from home if requested. 

Unsocial hours payments are additional to basic pay for staff whose work in standard hours, within the normal 37.5 hour working week.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

 The post holder will be working as part of a busy team of administrators and the role requires a high level of computer and telephone work, with access to a wide range of different systems and information.

  • Processing written referrals onto our clinical system
  • Taking telephone calls from patients and other health care professionals.
  • Dealing with enquiries in a helpful and efficient manner
  • Offering a high level of service to all our patients
  • Working closely with hub triage teams to ensure patient care is delivered effectively and efficiently.
  • Working with local service teams to complete required tasks and activities
  • Working well as a team under pressure in a busy environment 
  • Sharing information and escalating issues as appropriate 
  • identifying innovative ways of working

Qualifications & Training

Essential criteria
  • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
  • Excellent keyboard skills / use of Microsoft Word and Excel
Desirable criteria
  • SystmOne or equivalent clinical application knowledge

Experience and Knowledge

  • Administrative experience
  • Previous experience of working in a ‘patient/ customer focussed’ role
  • Health, safety and risk awareness

  • Previous NHS experience
