Job overview
As an RPA developer at KCHFT you will build automations from process design documents (PDDs). These will range from simple automations to complex automations and you will be given the necessary training and development to support your automation capabilities to progress through a career pathway from a junior entry level developer at Band 4 through to an experienced RPA developer at Band 6 able to undertake complex automations. We also have Senior RPA Developers within the team to support your development journey, act as a role model and mentor and a point of expertise and advise.
We have a robust competency framework in place that outlines the level of knowledge, skills and experience you will need to work at each of the Bands (4, 5 and 6) and what competencies you will need to achieve to be successful in moving up a Band when opportunities arise.
You role as an RPA developer will be building automations, understanding best practice coding standards, developing automations from PDDs, liaising with process owners and managers across the organisation and externally to verify any queries with PDDs and undertaking robust testing with senior manager sign off before deploying live automations.
Main duties of the job
As an RPA Developer you will be responsible for the creation and design of automations based on information provided within the Process Design Documentation (PDD).
The complexity of the processes allocated to you for automation will vary depending on your training, skills, experience and banding.
All RPA Developers will act as an ambassador and role model for other members of the team and are expected to be kind, responsive, professional and informative and to contribute to the quality of our
services by demonstrating the behaviours detailed in the Trust ‘CARE Values into action Framework’.

- Band 4 Essential Requirements - Foundation degree / NVQ Level 4.
- Band 5 Essential Requirements - Batchelor's degree (BA (BSc) / NVQ level 5, ordinary degree or equivalent level of experience.
- Band 6 Essential Requirements - Bachelor’s degree (BA (BSc) / NVQ level 6, Ordinary degree or equivalent level of experience / Evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable criteria
- Band 5 - RPA accreditation or evidence of RPA learning/ Evidence of continuing professional development.
