We have an exciting opportunity to come and join our Ward 40 Team! If you are a healthcare assistant looking to work in a fast-paced, energetic, caring and supportive environment then this is the post for you.

The post holder will be responsible for assisting the qualified nursing and medical staff in carrying out assigned tasks, involving direct nursing care in support of and supervised by a Registered Nurse/medical staff.

Main duties of the job

  1. Assist qualified nursing staff, as directed by the Nurse in charge and ascertain treatments to be carried out.
  2. Report on general condition / appearance of patients to the Senior Nurse on duty. Maintain personal contact with patients through conversation and during treatments.
  3. Maintain high standards of quality patient care and staff morale by personal example, good conduct and appearance. Participating in quality initiatives at Ward and departmental level. Attend Ward/departmental meetings and study lectures/training as required.
  4. Maintain good standards of Department housekeeping under the direction of the Ward Sister.
  5. To make Senior Sister aware of any problems/worries relating to sphere/area of work.

N/B      Before performing these tasks, proven training must be received and documented in the training pack.
