Psychotherapist/Counsellor

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is situated on the west coast of Lancashire, with services covering the local authority areas of Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre. The Trust is part of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System (ICS) supporting a population of around 1.6 million people.
We have three main hospitals providing acute services to around 330,000 local residents. The organisation also provides specialist tertiary care for cardiac and haematology services, delivers community health services to over 445,000 residents including those in North Lancashire and hosts the National Artificial Eye Service across England. The post holder will join the Occupational Health Therapy Team within BTH and provide Counselling and Psychotherapy Services for BTH employees.
Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
Provide humanistic, person centred or integrative counselling to staff members with common mental health problems across BTH. Where required they will be expected to undertake appropriate audit, research, and service development activities pertinent to the evaluation and development of the service The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary, and should be committed to equal opportunities. The post holder is expected to work only within their range of competency, seek regular supervision as deemed necessary, and escalate any concerns to the Nurse Manager or Head of Occupational Health.

· To carry an independent caseload of clients and deliver humanistic, person-centred or integrative counselling to staff members who are experiencing emotional distress as a result of life events and experiences, through the application of knowledge and skills in counselling assessment and intervention acquired through at least Advanced diploma level training, ongoing CPD activities and clinical supervision
· Provide Counselling advice and consultation to other professionals / individuals / groups across the Trust
· Utilise various modalities of therapy, adapting treatment plans to meet patient needs.
· Exercise an appropriate degree of autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and treatment of staff members in line with service standards and best practice guidance
· Co-ordination of counselling provision with outside agencies/long term planning for the establishment of new areas of activity within the counselling service
