Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist to join our acute children's physiotherapy team at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our hospital based physiotherapy team.
The post holder will take the lead as the physiotherapist for the cystic fibrosis service which forms part of the shared care network clinic with Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
They will share responsibility for the paediatric physiotherapy service including the children's wards and the MSK 0-5years out-patient clinics.
Working alongside the current band 7, this is a fantastic opportunity to further develop the acute paediatric physiotherapy service at Blackpool Victoria Hospital .
This is a permanent static position within the families and integrated care division. The hours are part time 22.5 hours a week.
Main duties of the job
· To provide an excellent standard of physiotherapy care to the infants and children accessing the acute paediatric physiotherapy service at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
To organise, provide, monitor and evaluate the paediatric cystic fibrosis service including attendance at the network MDT clinics. Also, offering physiotherapy out-patient CF services and providing home visits as indicated.
To share responsibility for the organisation, provision and evaluation of the acute paediatric physiotherapy service. Areas covered include paediatric patients on the the children's/neonatal/post-natal wards and also patients accessing the MSK 0-5years out-patient service (including ponseti service for clubfoot/ head turning preference/OBPP/ fractures etc.)
· Shared responsibility for the supervision, education, continuing professional development and overall performance of Band 6 Physiotherapists including annual appraisals and sickness monitoring.
- To provide and support the provision of paediatric respiratory on-call updates to physiotherapists within the Trust
To support and advise physiotherapists from other clinical areas in the management of difficult or complicated paediatric patients.

Education & Qualification
Essential criteria
- Degree in physiotherapy
- HCPC registered.
- Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio, including attendance at recent post graduate courses relevant to the speciality.
Desirable criteria
- Masters Level Degree.
- Membership of a Professional Group.
- Membership of Special Interest Groups/ Networks.
Esperience & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Experience of relevant clinical post graduate experience working at Band 6 level in the NHS within the paediatric speciality.
- Experience of working with patients with Cystic Fibrosis
- Minimum of 18 months working at Band 6 level
- Experience of working on a physiotherapy respiratory on-call service
- Supervision and development of physiotherapists
- Supervision of student physiotherapists and support staff
Desirable criteria
- Experience of developing services
- Evidence of managerial training/experience
- Evidence of extended skills within the paediatric specialty.
- Research/audit training/skills
- Experience at Band 6 level of working with members of the MDT in the area of paediatric physiotherapy
