Job overview
The Head of Nursing is a key member of the nursing management team working closely with the Divisional Director of Nursing for Surgery and St Mark's Hospital. As Head of Nursing, the post holder will provide leadership, facilitation, and operational direction to all nurses within St Marks Hospital, ensuring this reflects the changing needs of the wider Division and the organisation. Through professional leadership the post holder is responsible for providing patient focused services.
The role will support the Division in providing cross-site (NPH, Ealing and CMH) leadership but will mainly be based at Central Middlesex Hospital
Main duties of the job
- Ensure an effective, efficient, high-quality service is delivered by competent, motivated nursing staff
- Demonstrate clinical credibility and act as a role model in the delivery of patient care.
- Hold line reports to account for improving standards and delivery of their objectives in their clinical areas.
- Monitor and assesses clinical areas against CQC standards and key lines of enquiry, ensuring appropriate timely action if improvement is required.
- To act as a clinical expert within the Division.

- Post graduate qualification or equivalent.
- Teaching and assessing qualification or relevant experience
