Job overview
Main duties of the job
This position offers a unique opportunity to join the community-based consultant led specialist restorative dental team, providing high quality level 3 complexity care to patients in the North West sector of London. The service operates out of a single site at Acton Health Centre and is well served by public transport links. There is free staff car parking available.
The small friendly dental team comprises 5 experienced clinicians (including periodontists, hygienists and endodontists) supported by a dedicated team of fully trained dental nurses.

The clinical post is a 0.6 WTE (22.5 hours per week / 3 days to be agreed) permanent Band C salaried dental contract with pro-rata study leave. The holder will be involved in the provision of advanced mandatory services (level 3 complexity) in Endodontics. Job share (minimum 0.2WTE may be considered).
The post holder will accept appropriate referrals for their specialist area for patients who have complex treatment requirements, as triaged within the pan-London endodontic pathway. A typical clinical day (TBA) likely comprises:

Experience
Essential criteria
- Full registration with GDC and defence organisation Successful completion of a 3 year full time (or part time equivalent) training programme in Endodontics Name on GDC specialist list in Endodontics (or eligible within 3 months) Postgraduate degree (e.g. FDS RCS / MClin Dent / MSc)
- Clinical skills appropriate for specialist level, in Endodontics Competent to manage full range of treatment in Endodontics Pain diagnosis skills
- Understanding of clinical governance and risk management Management skills and effective leadership within a service and dental team Effective participation in audit and implementation of outcomes Appropriate IT skills, including use of dental IT software
Desirable criteria
- Broad experience of all aspects of Dentistry Surgical endodontic procedures
