We are excited to offer an opportunity for a passionate and experienced midwife to step into the role of Lead Midwife for Labour Ward. This is a fantastic chance to develop leadership skills, contribute to service improvement, and make a meaningful impact on maternity care.
Croydon is a busy, vibrant, and diverse place to work, offering a rich and rewarding experience for midwives who thrive in dynamic environments. As Lead Midwife, you will work closely with the Intrapartum Matron and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality care across the Labour Ward, Maternity Triage, and Obstetric Theatre.

Croydon University Hospital (CUH) maternity delivers 3300 babies every year from women of a wide and diverse background. CUH has been rated as ‘Good’ by the CQC and we are looking for strong, clinically credible leaders to help us in our journey to a CQC rating of ‘Outstanding’.

Croydon Health Services NHS Trust provide hospital and community services from a number of community and specialist clinics throughout Croydon. The Trust was formed on 1st August 2010 through the integration of Croydon Community Health Services and Mayday Healthcare NHS Trust. Around 4,100 staff provide services for a population of over 360,000 people who are relatively young with a high level of ethnic diversity.

- Evidence of professional development
- Assessor/mentorship course or equivalent ALSO/NALS/MOET course

- Professional Midwifery Advocate
- Managerial/Leadership qualifications and / or experience
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING

- Knowledge of clinical governance and risk management
