Job overview

The Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust has the largest NHS

decontamination facility in the UK, which is based in Enfield. 

A vacancy has become available for a Driver Team Leader and the shift pattern is as follows: 

Tuesday 05:00 -13:00 

Wednesday to Saturday 12:00 - 20:00 

Sunday and Monday day off. 

You will be paid an enhancement for working unsociable hours and weekends. 

To daily manage an allocated team, liaising with the logistics manager to ensure delivery schedules are met, and will be required to have the following: 

  • A clean driving license category C1 and if you passed your test on or after 1st January 1997 category B.
  • Previous van driving experience up to 3.5 tons and SWB transit vans. 
  • Experience of delivering to multi drop locations
  • Experience of customer relations and problem solving
  • Experience of organising loads and routes

On arrival for interview a DVLA licence check will take place, if the checks  are satisfactory the interview will take place.

Main duties of the job

·    Oversee and participate in the collection and delivery of surgical equipment, sterile and unsterile to and from all surgical departments, wards etc.

 

·    Collection /delivery of storeroom supplies.

 

·    Perform administrative tasks and ensure accurate work logs are kept in relation to goods transported and vehicles used.

 

·    Dispatch and to assist the technician operator of autoclave, to operate the porous loads, sterilisers.

 

·    Ensure all vehicles are safe, clean and roadworthy at all times.

 

·    Ensure all staff are adhering to applicable procedures, PPE and health and safety protocols.

 

·    Arrange driver cover rotas and ensure all delivery schedules are met.

 

·    Portray a professional, polite and courteous approach as a representative of the Trust.

 

·    Provide emergency cover on any route on off-duty days as and when required.

 

·    Undertake any other duties as determined by the needs of the department.
