Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic Cancer Pathway Admin Assistant with fantastic communication skills and a pro-active approach to join our team in Cancer Services.

The post holder will be passionate about working with the clinical teams, to develop the service and provide outstanding care for our patients.

Main duties of the job

The Trust’s cancer activity is comparable to designated cancer centres, so if you thrive on a challenge and feel you can make a real difference, this post maybe for you. The Trust is increasing resources into cancer service and has ambitious plans to continue to develop our cancer services.

Cancer Admin Assistants support our Cancer Pathway Coordinators and clinical teams to ensure all cancer pathway patients receive timely diagnosis and treatment. This is an excellent opportunity to get a broad understanding of hospital operations and administrative roles and the cancer team pride ourselves on developing staff.

Essential criteria
  • • Good standard of secondary education with literacy and numeracy skills demonstrable to GSCE level or equivalent standard.
Desirable criteria
  • Medical terminology course

Knowledge & experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Experience working in an administrative role
  • Experience of Microsoft Office applications and database software
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of collecting cancer waiting times data
  • Experience of using video-conferencing
  • Good understanding of the Cancer Waiting Times guidance.
