Want to work alongside friendly and like-minded colleagues in a challenging but exciting environment?

If that describes where you are at, then Haematology at London Northwest University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWUHT) could be the place for you.

The post is based at Northwick Park Hospital with some clinical commitments at Central Middlesex Hospital. Successful candidates will be part of a team of 16 Consultant Haematologist colleagues in delivering clinical, laboratory, diagnostic, administrative, research and teaching responsibilities.

If you’re successful there will be excellent opportunities to further develop clinical services, cultivate research ideas and to enhance teaching programs (at both post-graduate and undergraduate levels, as a major Centre for training students and trainees from Imperial College London).

Main duties of the job

London North West University Hospital Trust is seeking consultant haematologists. They will be responsible for the continued delivery and further development of an already established haematology service for patients living within the catchment area. These posts are based at Northwick Park Hospital and Central Middlesex Hospital.

The posts are full time 10PA in the haematology department of LNWH. A full-time consultant in this role will undertake three outpatient haematology clinics per week. On-call attending weeks are shared with colleagues on a 1:6 basis, supported by a 24 hour on-call registrar and with clinical activities mainly based at Northwick Park Hospital for those weeks.

Attendance in MDT meetings at both a local and regional level will also be a core part of the role. You will need to work closely with other members of the team, and will also be needed to support education and training across the trust to foster excellence in emergency and long-term management of haematological disorders.
