Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Band 6 Nurse within the Dermatology Department at LNWH Hospital. This dynamic and varied role involves providing specialist nursing care and support to patients with acute and long-term dermatological conditions, including patient education, counselling and ongoing management throughout their treatment pathway.

The post holder will play a key role in coordinating patient care, managing clinical investigations, supporting the development and implementation of individual treatment plans, monitoring patient progress and conducting regular clinical reviews to ensure high standards of care are maintained.

Although primarily based in Dermatology, the role requires close collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT), which is an essential aspect of the post. The successful candidate will be expected to work across both Ealing and Northwick Park Hospital sites.

The post holder will support service provision by ensuring patients are seen in a timely and appropriate manner, while liaising effectively with families and relevant healthcare professionals to promote seamless, patient-centred care.

This is a challenging, rewarding and professionally fulfilling role. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Band 6 Nurse with strong dermatology knowledge, capable of working autonomously while also supporting junior staff, contributing to service development and maintaining high standards of clinical governance and patient safety

The Band 6 nurse will be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, ensuring that a welcoming, caring and safe environment is provided for patients, their families, visitors and carers at all times.

The role will involve working flexibly across dermatology services, including supporting both outpatient and day-care settings as required to meet service needs. The post holder will act as a clinical resource with a specialist interest in the education and professional development of nursing staff, ensuring that mandatory and in-house training requirements are maintained in line with Trust policies and professional standards
