Job overview
We are looking for a dietitian who is passionate about ensuring high quality nutrition provision for hospital patients. The current postholder is going on maternity leave so there is an opportunity to cover for a year. This role is well established and respected within the Trust and is a great opportunity for an individual to develop their skills in project management, advocacy, governance and working collaboratively with a range of disciplines. London North West University Healthcare Trust serves a diverse population with a wide range of cultural and religious beliefs about food and we ensure this is reflected in our menus and approach.
Main duties of the job
The catering dietitian works closely with both the dietetic, facilities, catering and nursing teams. The right dietitian will have good clinical experience alongside an interest in food service and ward and catering processes. These are essential to providing optimal nutrition to our patients and ensure food policies and legislation are met. They need to be self-driven, organised and be able to foster positive relationships with a variety of health care professionals. Experience of catering projects, involvement in change management, service evaluation or audit would be an advantage.
The role covers the 3 hospital sites based on Ealing, Acton and Harrow and you would be expected to regularly spend time at each site. There is some flexibility to work from home on occasion if it suits the service. You would be joining a large dynamic and friendly department of acute dietitians and dietetic assistants with good clerical support. The dietetics department is committed to Continuing Professional Development, and we have an established clinical governance programme including evidence based clinical groups, audit meetings, journal clubs, clinical supervision and critical appraisal. We are a well-established student trainer and there is the opportunity for this post to support students with projects or audits.
