Job overview

We are looking for a Senior Radiographer to join our busy and friendly Radiology department.

The role also requires good communication skills, multidisciplinary team-working and the ability to supervise and train other staff and students.

You will demonstrate expertise and knowledge in specialised field of MRI Radiology and support the expansion of the MRI service. The post holder should hold a cannulating certificate.

This is a cross site role covering. MRI operates between 8am and 8pm seven days of the week therefore a shift system is in operation.


Main duties of the job

To work within a team of radiographic (MRI) and clerical staff within the
Trust

To provide a high standard of expertise and care

To ensure safe operation of MRI equipment and maintain safety of
patients, staff and visitors to the MRI environment.

To help facilitate learning for students and less experienced staff

To work in the 7 day MRI service and take part in the on-call rota on bank
holidays for emergency spinal cord compression patients

To ensure correct MRI scanning protocols have been followed and adapted for the patients

To recognise pathology and adapt scanning techniques where necessary

To ensure all images are available on PACS and assigned to the correct
worklist

Essential criteria
  • BSc Radiography or equivalent
  • HCPC Registration

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • MRI experience in an acute setting
  • Good knowledge of all general aspect of radiography
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of teaching and training students
  • Experience in DEXA scanning, CT or Ultrasound

Skills & Other Attributes
