Job overview

This job is for a Senior Clinical fellow in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at ST5-7 level with opportunity to have training in general obstetrics and gynaecology. Many opportunities available for those wishing to pursue ATSMs.  The post holder will be an integral part of the general obstetrics and gynaecology team with cross site working at Ealing and Northwick Park Hospitals as part of the senior middle grade rota.

Ealing has facilities for clinics, gynaecology theatres, day case and in patient wards. Northwick Park Hospital is a busy acute hospital in Harrow with a purpose built maternity unit including delivery suite, obstetric HDU, in-patient facilities, day assessment and clinic facilities. There is a level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care unit. Gynaecology in patient and theatre facilities are located within the main hospital. Both hospitals have comprehensive imaging facilities including CT and MRI suites.

Main duties of the job

The job involves cross site working at Northwick Park Hospital and Ealing Hospital.  The appointee will be involved with the ST5-7 rota for obstetrics and gynaecology covering on-call commitments at Northwick Park.

Essential criteria
  • MRCOG part 3
Desirable criteria
  • Another higher qualification

Knowledge and expertise

Essential criteria
  • NHS experience within the last 3 years
  • Competency and experience at ST5-7 registrar level
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team

Teaching

Essential criteria
  • Experience of teaching and training undergraduates, postgraduates and junior medical staff
Desirable criteria
  • MD or PhD Evidence of ongoing interest and achievement in research
