Job overview

Due to expansion of Cancer Services within the Trust,  Pharmacy has created a specialist development post. If you are interested to become a specialist  Cancer Pharmacist, this is the job for you.

You will have opportunities to  develop your general and specialist skills in providing multi-disciplinary Cancer Services.

Main duties of the job

Working in partnership with our senior Pharmacists in the Cancer Services team, the post holder will have the opportunity to develop their clinical skills in Haematology and Oncology Services. 

The post holder will provide clinical and professional support and assist the day-to day operation of the Cancer and Aseptic Services. 

As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be working closely with the Clinical Nurse Specialists, Haematologists, Oncologists and Chemotherapy Nurses in providing specialist service in in-patient, day care and out-patient settings.

We will also provide support in your professional development as a Independent Prescriber in one of the Haemato-Oncology specialties.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy (MPharm)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent
  • Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council
Desirable criteria
  • Completed SACT passport
  • Qualified Independent Prescriber

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Good, broad clinical knowledge and ability to apply to a ward and dispensary setting
  • Some experience of providing training, mentorship and supervising staff
  • Relevant post-graduate experience
  • Documented evidence of completed project work, audit and practice research
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
  • Apply knowledge to practice & willing to take professional responsibility
Desirable criteria
  • Leadership and management experience
  • Previous experience in cancer services
