Job overview
The Storekeeper will report to the Section Manager in Purchasing and Distribution. The post holder will predominantly be based in the Pharmacy Stores and Distribution department. The Post holder will support the Drug Distribution Service when necessary.
- The post holder should have an NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services.
- · Duties include helping to manage stock, providing a ward top-up service (including replenishing Omnicell cabinets) when required, cleaning and tidying
- · Receive and unpack deliveries from external suppliers and puts drugs away, dealing promptly with any discrepancies according to SOPs.
- · Check expiry dates and rotates stock
- · Overseas good housekeeping by ensuring benches are kept clear of drugs no longer required and stored appropriately
- · Deals with non clinical enquires from patients and other healthcare professionals
- · Be complaint with the requirements of Good Distribution Practice (GDP)
- · Assist in training and induction of new staff
Main duties of the job
The department actively promotes development, education and training. To apply you will need to have good GCSEs or equivalent and obtained or working towards a full NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services or equivalent.
This is a full time post and the post holder will be required to participate in the weekend & bank holiday rota.

Essential criteria
- • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent Pharmacy Assistant certificate
- • Must have GCSE or equivalent at Grade C/4 or above in maths and English
