Respiratory Trust Grade Registrar

6 Months Fixed Term Contract

LNWHT invites applications for a Trust Registrar post (unbanded) in Respiratory and Acute Medicine based at Northwick Park Hospital.

The duties of the post are identical to those of the existing NTN in respiratory and general medicine and provides excellent experience at specialist registrar level. Training will be given in bronchoscopy and non-invasive ventilation. It would ideally suit an experienced SHO who is hoping to pursue a career in Respiratory Medicine.  MRCP essential. Main duties of the job

Duties include ward cover and inpatient referrals, supporting pleural and bronchoscopy lists, non-invasive ventilation and attendance at General Respiratory and specialist outpatient clinics. As with the NTN, the successful post holder will have an identified CS and ES, overseen by the Respiratory TPD.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The Department of Respiratory Medicine at Northwick park has a busy ward for respiratory inpatients located on the 7 th floor of Northwick Park Hospital in the Gaskell ward unit. The appointee will generally be responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients admitted to the Respiratory department under direct supervision of the Respiratory consultants. The overall aim is provide comprehensive respiratory 
assessments to reduce length of stay, reduce re-admission rates and maximise independence in the community. The appointee will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
