We are looking for a Quality Manager to join our Quality and Regulation team.
Title: Quality Manager
Salary: £40,000 - £44,000 per annum dependent on experience
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 35 per week (standard Anthony Nolan working hours)
Location: Hybrid, with head office in Hampstead, London (2 days per week on-site)
Job Summary
The Quality Manager will drive the quality agenda within the Anthony Nolan Stem Cell Registry. They will work with colleagues within the Quality Team and the Stem Cell Registry Team to maintain compliance with the relevant regulation and accreditation standards, currently the Human Tissue Authority (HTA) and the World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA). This is a unique opportunity to support a Stem Cell Registry, as a member of the quality and regulation team in a dynamic organisation striving to improve the lives of patients every day.
This is a vital role for the organisation and therefore it is key that this individual maintains an up-to-date knowledge of the relevant quality standards (HTA & WMDA) and quality management skills. Driving the quality culture, they will refine and review the quality management road map and deliver a comprehensive quality education programme to ensure that colleagues in the registry are abreast of the compliance requirements and have a full understanding of them and their role in this.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic professional, with experience of working in a highly regulated healthcare establishment. An individual who is excellent at building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including the external regulatory and accreditation bodies. They will be a self-starter and a confident communicator who can influence and negotiate with people to comply with the requirements of the quality management system whilst providing registry services. Therefore, understanding the complexities of working in a busy registry environment is crucial.
Essential Attributes
- BSc in Biological Sciences or an equivalent science is desirable but not essential.
- Extensive experience of working in the quality management function within an accredited and/or licensed healthcare establishment.
- Strong IT skills with proficiency in preparation and presentation of QMS related data, auditing, and reporting, desirable to have experience of using Ideagen Q-Pulse software.
- Substantial experience as an auditor (completion of a certified training course or a auditor for an accreditation body) having conducted (prepared checklists, performed audits and prepared and delivered the final audits to teams) and participated in inspection audits.
- Experience of managing significant change projects (to services, processes, or equipment) within an accredited or licensed establishment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, chairing meetings, preparing data and dashboards for discussions of QMS data and issues, being prepared to challenge colleagues when there are issues with compliance.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to manage large and varied workloads.
- Good understanding of the relevant UK legislation and quality standards Anthony Nolan seeks compliance in, for example, the Human Tissue Act.
