Counsellor – Islington/ Camden IAPT

Band 7 Permanent/ fixed term (0.5 FTE)

We are looking for Counsellors to join our small counselling team embedded in the Islington iCope service. You will be qualified and UKCP or BACP accredited. You will have experience of working in Primary care or an IAPT service and will have gained the Person Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (PCE-CfD) qualification. Ideally, you will have experience of supervising. We have two 0.5 FTE posts to fill, one is fixed term for a year the other is permanent.

You will be passionate about making a range of evidenced based talking therapies accessible to our clients and you will be able to work as part of the iCope team to achieve this. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, a commitment to clinical excellence and be able to work confidently, flexibly and autonomously.

As part of your role, you will receive regular clinical supervision and line management. You will be expected to contribute to service delivery and clinical projects. We encourage all our staff to develop, and lead on special interests.

You will be joining a professional, supportive and friendly team comprising Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, CBT therapists, Counsellors and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, delivering the range of evidence based IAPT appropriate interventions, including CBT, PCE-CfD, DIT, IPT, and Behavioural Couples Therapy. We also work alongside our Primary Care Mental Health Team .

The service has two bases, one in Manor Gardens and the other at Finsbury Health Centre.

The post offers access to high level CPD from Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust.
