Job overview
The Receptionists will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors attending the GP OOH Service and are expected to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, care, courtesy and respect when greeting patients,
Working in a busy environment, the Receptionist will book patients into the service, answer telephone queries and undertake a range of administrative duties to support the running of the service.

Main duties of the job
The Emergency Department has two reception areas (Main Reception and GP OOHs Reception.
- Welcome and direct all patients and visitors arriving at the GP Out of Hours reception desk
- Handle all reception and administration duties, serving as the primary contact for inquiries and ensuring a professional, respectful service.
- Register patients arriving at the GP Out of Hours (OOH) reception, verifying demographic details, and recording arrivals on Adastra while maintaining strict confidentiality under the Data Protection Act and Access to Health Records Act.
- Ensure patients are seen in a timely manner and oversee patient safety in the waiting room, informing doctors of any status changes
