Job overview
Come and join us at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust as we implement innovations to improve our community service. Our service is changing and evolving to meet the needs of our local population.
We are now establishing caseload teams across our two sites within a defined geographical area based in a children’s centre. We currently have 3 caseload teams and are looking to expand to the 4th team across our catchment areas. As a result, we are looking for enthusiastic midwives to join us. We have one permanent role and one fixed term role available.
We have team of band 7s who will support band 6’s to gain experience and feel supported in this role. You will be providing total care to a mixed caseload of both high and low risk pregnant population and will support them to give birth in all settings including at home. Our vision is to have a team of 16 band 7s to be able to provide this model of care 24/7 and cover on calls.

Main duties of the job
- Provide high quality, evidence-based care and advice to women throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods in a variety of settings such as the community, hospital and woman’s home.
- Provide continuity of care and carer in combination with emotional and psychological support during the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods and ensure that the needs of the woman are placed at the centre of care delivery. Supporting birth in all areas
- Work alongside multi professional teams providing the most appropriate care, whilst breaking down barriers that may inhibit women with socially complex lives accessing high quality maternity care.
- You will manage your caseload of women and be based in a children’s centre and cover a set geographical area. Working within a team of midwives providing 24 hour provision of care. This will include weekend working and night on call commitment.
- Possess sound knowledge of safeguarding issues, domestic abuse, female genital mutilation and mental health illness in order to advocate for women and their families.
