Advanced Specialist St Marks Gastroenterology Dietitian
7
Job overview
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced dietitian to work in the St Marks Dietetic Team. St Marks is a national centre for intestinal failure and gastroenterology and the dietitians are an established and valued part of the MDT. If successful you would be joining a supportive and cohesive St Marks dietetic team consisting of a Consultant Dietitian, a team lead, 5 other band 7 and 2 band 6 dietitians.
Main duties of the job
The post will cover a caseload of inpatients on either the colorectal surgical wards, general surgical/ medical wards or intestinal rehabilitation unit, based at either Central Middlesex Hospital or Northwick Park Hospital. You will be working closely and within the hospital’s parenteral nutrition teams, contributing to decisions about the nutritional care of complex cases. In addition, it will include cover for a weekly multidisciplinary nutrition clinic for home parenteral nutrition patients and a dietetic led gastroenterology clinic.
Regular evidence-based groups and breakfast clubs support the development of clinical skills and audit, and service development is strongly encouraged. You will have the opportunity to actively participate in developing the service both clinically and strategically. Opportunities for education and training are also available.
This post would be ideal for someone with strong gastroenterology, intestinal failure and parenteral nutrition experience. We would be looking for someone with a proactive approach, good time management skills and a team player.
