Job overview
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, effective, and timely transition of adult IBD patients to the cost-saving biosimilar. This role is integral to our Trust’s financial sustainability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the end-to-end delivery of the biosimilar switch project.
- Developing detailed timelines and creating reusable project templates for future switches.
- Managing complex patient and provider queries independently.
- Overseeing the administrative processes related to prescription transfer, including resolving failed switches.
- Educating and supporting the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure seamless communication and implementation.
- Collaborating with homecare providers to support patient transitions and troubleshoot logistics.

- A qualified, registered pharmacy technician with experience in hospital pharmacy settings.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Confidence in handling sensitive patient communications and troubleshooting medication issues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

- BTEC/NVQ level 3 in Pharmaceutical sciences
- Registered with the GPHC
- Accredited medicines management/optimisation course
- Accredited Checking Technician
- Evidence of CPD

- Completion of recognised management course
- Practice supervisor/Education supervisor/NVQ Assessor
Knowledge and experience
