A fantastic opportunity has arisen for those interested in supporting the Speech and Language Therapy team working with children in Wandsworth community clinics. Supporting children’s communication development is vital and speech therapy plays a crucial role in supporting those who have delayed communication skills.
This role will involve working directly with children under the guidance of a therapist. This role will involve supporting with administrative tasks such as booking appointments, making resources, uploading assessments and at times may involve supporting therapy under the guidance of a therapist.
We have a group of assistants who form an important part of our dynamic therapy team.
This role would suit someone with excellent people skills and admin skills who is interested in working as part of a service that supports children and families.
Main duties of the job
To support our SLT team to provide a speech and language therapy service within Wandsworth community clinics to
- Run 1:1 therapy sessions in Clinics/Schools across Wandsworth
- Set up and run groups for families
- Support the running of trainings for parents
- To attend team meetings and frequently liaise with other members of the team
- Recording patient information on electronic systems
- Inviting families to therapy
- Recording numbers attending groups and reporting to the SLT
- Receiving calls from parents and carers
- Scanning and uploading secure documents
