An opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Coder to join the Clinical Coding team at London North West Healthcare NHS Trust.

The current NHS environment provides exciting challenges for Clinical Coding, with a focus on delivering improvements to the quality of clinically coded data, to ensure appropriate income for the Trust under Payment by Results (PbR).

The Trust requires an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our experienced and friendly Clinical Coding team, to help sustain the necessary improvements in the capture and coding of clinical data. You will be responsible for the interpretation of complex clinical information found in case notes and the coding of Diagnoses and Procedures using the appropriate ICD10 and OPCS Coding Classifications.

Ideally candidates will be ACC qualified but applicants working towards ACC qualification and with sufficient suitable experience are welcome. If successful a candidate without ACC qualification you will be offered a structured training programme leading to a National Clinical Coding Qualification. All candidates will be educated to GCSE level or equivalent, with computer skills, enthusiasm and the ability to work on their own initiative.

ACC qualified coders will be appointed on to Band 5. Unqualified but experienced staff will be appointed to Band 4 and progress to Band 5 following achievement of suitable experience and qualification.

Full time hours (37.5 hours per week) however the Trust is willing to consider applications for flexible working. This post is also subject to a 20% Recruitment and Retention Payment
