Job overview
Play House Day Nursery, Early Years Leader, Band 4, 28 hours per week, Based at Sutton, Surrey. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Early Years Officer to support the room leader and team and care for the children of staff at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. We require a reliable, flexible member of the team showing initiative and commitment. An ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form will be essential. Applicants must have a minimum Level 5 qualification in Childcare and Education and level A-C in GCSE English. Main duties of the job
The role of the Nursery Officer is to work as part of a professional team to provide and support children’s routines, development and learning opportunities throughout the day. To effectively communicate all relevant information to the parent and take a lead role in the absence of the Room Leader in the planning, organisation and supervision of the staff, systems and children’s care and education.

• To work as part of a team providing care, play and activities appropriate to the age and ability of the child, supervising staff and children in the absence of a room leader.
• To plan the activities and play opportunities to support children’s learning
• To interact sensitively with children in groups and individually to promote confidence and self esteem.
• To work with key children and their parents and attend parents evenings.
• To work with Ofsted’s regulatory requirements and the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
• Work with the team to carry out an audit of the provision for Quality Marks, ITERS & ECERS 3.
