DTS Technician
Full Time - 37.50 hours per week

We are seeking an IT Technician to join our small but growing team of dedicated IT professionals. We support the delivery of
information technology to around 6,500 NHS staff working at Stepping Hill Hospital and over 30 sites in the Stockport community.

The successful candidate will have experience of supporting desktop and mobile technologies in the work place. You will have excellent problem
solving skills and an in-depth knowledge of computer architecture, windows operating systems, directory services and configuration management.

Operating as part of a small team, you must be able to work without supervision and be able to demonstrate very good communication skills.

Main duties of the job

A technical role with responsibility for the support and maintenance of end-user devices, ensuring that IT incidents are resolved effectively and that Trust employees are fully supported in obtaining maximum value from the Trusts information technologies.

IT Technicians work without supervision and must be effective team members. They must possess a high degree of initiative and innovative thinking.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving and ensuring agreed procedures and standards are met.

Essential criteria
  • A higher education qualification in a computing/engineering/technical discipline or relevant equivalent acquired experience combined with a vocational IT qualification
  • ITIL Foundation Certificate (to be passed within 12 months of appointment)

Knowledge

  • A good knowledge of computer architecture, Windows operating systems and office applications
