Job overview
The Maternity and Neonatal Voices partnership (MNVP) are an independently led group who work together to review and support local maternity and Neonatal services, listen to the voices of service users, co produce the design and implementation of services and support the LMNS to provide quality assurance and surveillance across maternity services.
It is important to have an active MNVP which represents and supports those using the Maternity/ Neonatal Services and enable the services to improve.
Interview Date will be week commencing 25th August 2025
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and enthusiastic person to be the Lead for Maternity and Neonatal Voice partnership, in which you will be the main contact for all enquiries, leading on engagement with people who are using the Maternity and Neonatal services within the boroughs of Sefton, West Lancs, St Helens, Knowsley and Halton. The role has a strategic level responsibility with engagement with key stakeholders including the LMNS and commissioners.
We are looking for individuals who are compassionate and driven to advocate for women and their families and be a conduit to the improvement and advancement of our Maternity and Neonatal services.
This role will be a flexible role, working at home, within the community and with the ability to travel across the MWL hospital footprint
The role is proposed for 2 years and remunerated on a sessional basis up to £9,000 per year

Acute Care
Providing emergency and maternity services at Whiston, Southport and Ormskirk hospitals, and medical and surgical specialties across all our sites.
Primary Care
Providing primary care services at Marshalls Cross Medical Centre situated in St Helens Hospital.
Community Services
Providing adult community services for St Helens and a wheelchair service in Chorley, South Ribble, and West Lancashire. Our inpatient unit at Newton Community Hospital is where patients needing acute hospital beds can continue rehabilitation. We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre.
Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.

To be considered for this role you must reside in the Sefton, West Lancs, St Helens, Knowsley or Halton area, as this is due to the nature of the duties as detailed in the job description and person specification. You must be a service user member, current or previous as this is the area that the MNVP will be working as an advocate for people using the Maternity/ Neonatal services.

Essential criteria
- Significant administrative knowledge
- Knowledge and good use of IT systems and software programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Understanding of Confidentiality and Data Protection Act.
- Knowledge of NHS Maternity and Neonatal care and passionate about developing the quality of care
- Demonstrable experience of maternity services as a service user within the past 3 years.
