Job overview
The post holder will support the Surgical Division specialities in achieving departmental, national and Trust objectives to provide an efficient and effective surgical outpatient and theatre provision. They will be responsible for the day to day oversight of surgical clinics/theatres working closely with the Directorate Team, Consultants, Secretaries, Nursing team and Patient Booking Services/Access and Booking team, to ensure that patients are offered an appointment/theatre slot in a timely manner and in the correct clinic/theatre.

Main duties of the job
They will work with the Clinical Director and Directorate Management on service demands and available capacity, implementing any changes required to maintain a fully compliant service.
To provide regular reports on outpatient/theatre activity and tracking compliance to Trust clinicians, managers and CCG representatives.

Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE level, including English and Maths or equivalent qualification and/ or equivalent experience.
- Degree or equivalent qualification and/ or equivalent experience.
Desirable criteria
- Microsoft Office Certification or equivalent qualification and/ or equivalent experience
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Proven experience in a range of administrative procedures.
- Experience of working with the general public.
- Knowledge of Data Protection/Caldicott.
- Knowledge of current NHS strategies and policies.
