The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) is a 1,200-bedded teaching hospital with state-of-the-art facilities for modern patient care: 1100 beds in the PFI and 100 in Cromer Community Hospital.
The NNUH is part of Norfolk and Waveney University Hospitals Group which includes the James Paget Hospital, in Great Yarmouth and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King Lynn.
We carry out nearly one million outpatient appointments, day case procedures and inpatient admissions annually. The population we serve is predominantly the people of Norfolk and north Suffolk, although some patients are referred from further afield especially to access specialist services available at this Trust.
Our staff of c10,000 care for and support patients who are referred to us by around 100 local GP practices and from other acute hospitals. We run more than 60 specialist services as a tertiary centre, including more than a dozen specialist cancer and radiotherapy treatments, and we are one of the biggest cancer centres in the country.
We provide complex spinal surgery services, specialist Neonatal Intensive Care, neurosciences services and specialist cardiac services. Our Trust runs specialist dermatology, rheumatology, endocrinology, adult congenital heart disease services, treatment of complex liver and pancreatic diseases in adults, cystic fibrosis services and intestinal failure services. We are enhancing our urgent and emergency care specialist services for patients with significant injuries as a result of trauma and have an ambition to become a Major Trauma Centre. NNUH is currently the busiest Trauma Unit in the East of England caring for almost 850 trauma patients annually many with complex care needs.

Job overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Outpatients at Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital for a Housekeeper as a part of our highly experienced and established team in our busy department. We are based in Outpatients West at Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital, on our modern, purpose-built site.
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic person who can support our PRIDE values.
The successful candidate will provide non-clinical support to the team carrying out assigned tasks under the supervision of the registered Nurses in ENT Outpatients, such as cleaning of nasoendoscopes. Although previous housekeeper experience would be advantageous, it is not essential. Training will be provided once in post.
The successful candidate will be expected to work their hours flexibly over 2 days a week, Monday to Saturday, 7:30-17:30 and 7:30 -17:00 but this will be discussed further at interview stage.
You will be joining a small and friendly team and will be given plenty of mentoring and support from experienced team members. What matters most in this role is to be organised, motivated and enjoy working as part of a dedicated and passionate team.

Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities of the role are:
- Setting up the clinic and treatment rooms prior to the start of clinics, including checking oxygen and suction equipment.
- General tidying up of the department at the end of each day, once clinics are finished.
- To clean nasoendoscopes according to the department requirements. Full training will be provided for this.
- To order stock, report faults as required, ensuring safe and smooth running of the clinics.
- To ensure that stocks and supplies are kept at adequate levels within the department and order accordingly. Storing supplies as required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a working rapport with nursing, medical, technical, ancillary and administration colleagues.
- Help with cleaning and maintain tidiness in all areas.
- Assist with the cleaning of all equipment and quality testing of specialised equipment.
- To be responsible for the maintenance of equipment at ward level, reporting and ensuring accurate records are kept and equipment retrieved and returned as necessary.
- To check linen allocation daily, report any problems to the Ward Coordinator and liaise with the linen room to rectify problems. Ensure dirty linen is bagged and disposed of correctly.
- Check emergency equipment is available by all beds i.e. oxygen tubing, masks,
Suction. - Check oxygen and suction is working is working correctly and ensure portable oxygen cylinders are full.
- Ensure adequate stocks of items are in areas as required, and assist with the ordering of stores and stationery supplies. Know how to use Powergate where applicable.
- Put supplies and stationery away in storage areas as required.
- Keep all storage areas clean and neat and promote a safe working environment.
