Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our friendly team as a Clerical Officer, in the MSK and Therapies team. This position will be based at Archways, Belgrave Street, York part of our York and Scarborough Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Work is varied, challenging and patient focused. You will need to have excellent communication skills, and be effective in prioritising workloads, with a flexible and patient centred approach. Working for the NHS can be a rewarding experience with a number of staff benefits.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide support to the MSK and Therapies team, by contributing to an efficient and effective service within a very busy environment.
You will work with clear departmental and national procedures, and have responsibility for receiving, maintaining and providing manual and electronic data containing sensitive and confidential information, as well as making appointments for patients.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively as part of the wider team.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent. Maths and English at C or above – or equivalent qualification/demonstrable experience.
- Computer literacy skills/qualifications such as RSA2/NVQ 2 or equivalent demonstrable experience
Desirable criteria
- Previous office/administrative experience.
- Previous office/administrative experience in an NHS environment.
Skills
Essential criteria
- Able to organise and able to prioritise own workload.
- Ability to function effectively as part of a Team
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
