An opportunity has arisen for motivated individuals to join our busy Facilities Team at Blossomwood working as a Facilities Assistant in our Portering Department. 

Previous experience of working as a Porter in a Hospital environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be given. 

Main duties of the job

As a Facilities Assistant, Porter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital. Your responsibilities will include:

Working in our main stores, delivering and collecting items from around the hospital, linen, waste, goods, property, deliver food trolleys to all wards.
Assisting with office or ward relocations, waste management

Core Hours: Between 08:00 - 17:00
Working shifts up to 5 days over 7 days (including weekends and bank holidays). Shift pattern will be discussed at the interview

Working as a Facilities Assistant - Portering at Blossomwood Hospital, Mansfield offers a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in patient care and support the hospital's operations.

Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa.

Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment. 

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
