Employee Relations Advisor

Band 5

Job overview

As an Employee Relations Advisor at NUH, you will be at the forefront of everything we do and have a positive impact on delivering our people plans across the organisation. It’s a hugely rewarding role where we’ll give you everything you need to develop in your HR career.

We are pleased to be offering a number of fixed term and potential permanent posts in our newly formed Employee Relations Team.

Main duties of the job

Bringing with you experience of working in a people environment you will be a dynamic and committed individual looking to take the next step in your Employee Relations advisory career.

Day-to-day, you will be the first point of contact working closely with our operational teams within one of our newly formed Care Groups.  You will work closely with the Employee Relations Managers to provide a credible advisory service, advising on the application of HR policies and procedures, supporting disciplinary, employment concerns, performance, sickness issues and meetings.  With our support, you’ll also help to move forward change management programmes, implement national initiatives and achieve national HR performance targets.

This is a fast-paced role that relies on your ability to work to manage a case load of employment relations matters autonomously and your excellent communication skills. You’ll have a background of supporting staff improvement programmes, understanding staff feedback, analysing data and metrics, and putting actions into practice. Plus, you’ll be able to multi-task, organise your time and move seamlessly from one task to another.  As a real team player who thrives in a busy environment, you’ll get the best out of yourself and us.

In return, you will be given plenty of opportunities to grow and develop in your HR career including training and development and employment law updates throughout the year.

Working for our organisation

With over 19,000 staff, we are one of the biggest employers in the city with a central role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our local population. We play a leading role in research, education and innovation.
