Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust has been rated as Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
We are a responsive and innovative Foundation Trust that places our values of Caring, Safe and Excellent at the heart of everything we do. We take great pride in our staff and believe that investing in you is key to us achieving our vision of outstanding care delivered by outstanding people.
We work with a wide range of partner organisations to deliver care and support to people in their own homes and from a number of hospitals and community bases. We focus on delivering care as close to home as possible.
Job overview
As current resident doctors in psychiatry approaching the end of your higher training programmes, we recognise that you have a unique journey ahead of you. Preparing for what lies ahead can be a daunting experience as you make the transition from an experienced resident doctor to a consultant psychiatrist. This event is designed for resident doctors through collaboration with small focus groups of senior psychiatry resident doctors and early years consultants from across Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust (OHFT) with the intention of helping you to make that transition just a bit easier. The interesting sessions planned for you throughout the day will guide you through some of the bigger changes that come with becoming a consultant; from demystifying job planning and acting up experiences, through to some more theoretical sessions on AI and autism and an addictions update. All of which have been identified as potentially missing from the formal teaching delivered through the training programme.
Please note, this event is only available to psychiatry resident doctors in formal higher training posts.
Main duties of the job
The event will last a full day and will be hosted in the comfortable setting of the voco Oxford Thames Hotel in central Oxford. The hotel is conveniently situated, it has good links to public transport with the nearest train station a ten minute taxi ride away. Refreshments and lunch will be provided, when booking your place, please be sure to tell us about any dietary or accessibility requirements you may have. Due to the high cost of this event, we would appreciate it if you could book a space and let us know if you’re no longer able to attend.
