Job overview

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced nurse with a passion for delivering high-quality endoscopy care. Powys Teaching Health Board is seeking a skilled and motivated Endoscopy Co-ordinator to lead and manage our endoscopy services across PTHB sites. This is a job share Band 7 leadership role.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead the day-to-day management of the endoscopy unit, ensuring high standards of patient care.
  • Provide specialist clinical leadership and support to nursing and support staff.
  • Oversee rostering, training, recruitment, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with Health Board policies, clinical governance, and national guidelines.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to meet service demand and Welsh Government waiting time targets.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and patient-centred care.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Live registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council
  • Masters qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Continuing Professional Development
  • Teaching and assessing qualification
  • Knowledge of Endoscopy Nursing and treatment
  • Extended skills e.g. immediate life support training

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience in an Endoscopy Department
  • Experienced in the management of acutely unwell patients
  • Evidence of leading a team
  • Knowledge of national and local guidelines/strategies

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal can manage barriers and have empathy
