Job overview
We are looking for a Service Lead for our Smoking Cessation Team. It is a key role which involves leading the planning and delivery of an effective community service across Powys, including managing a team of smoking advisors. It also requires working in partnership to support and ensure high quality delivery of a broad range of smoking cessation services, aligned to Welsh Government’s ‘Help Me Quit’ (HMQ) programme, including HMQ Hospital, HMQ Baby and HMQ Pharmacy. Effective collaborative working with key partners and stakeholders within Powys is essential to ensure delivery on Welsh Government smoking cessation targets, in order to reduce smoking prevalence and improve health and wellbeing in the Powys population.

Experienced in working with and facilitating smoking cessation or other behavioural change programmes
Experienced in working in partnership; building strong relationships fostering trust and cooperation among key partners, stakeholders, and community groups
Experienced in effective communication strategies and awareness raising of services
An experienced team manager who is a positive and proactive leader with the ability to motivate, engage and support teams to achieve the highest standards and outcomes.
A strategic thinker able to identify and take action where there are opportunities or challenges, and is open to new approaches.
Main duties of the job

Powys Teaching Health Board is seeking someone who is passionate about smoking cessation, and is able to use effective communication skills to promote and raise awareness of the service. They will need to demonstrate that they are dynamic and inspirational, who will be proactive in leading the smoking cessation service in Powys to support smokers to quit.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Master’s or equivalent in a Healthcare related subject or significant demonstrable experience equivalent to academic level
- Understanding of performance and health service management processes
- Knowledge of programme management processes
- Knowledge and experience of developing and implementing strategies and plans for the delivery and development of services
- Evidence of continuing professional development and committed to continued learning and development
Experience
Essential criteria
- Demonstrable experience of operating in a senior management or strategic development role within a health and or social care environment
- Experience of staff management and leadership
- Demonstrable project management skills including work planning, organisation and prioritisation
- Experience of undertaking data collection, collation and inputting into complex spreadsheet and documents
- Experience of budget management
